"The 2014 (Forster) Pechstein GG opens clear, discreet but complex and really distinctive in its coolish, flinty and mineral aromatics. The wine is still restrained and very aristocratic on both nose and palate, but its tension, concentration and long, salty/mineral expression is remarkable. This bone dry (0.2 grams per liter of residual sugar), firmly structured and vitalizing racy Pechstein does not need any sweetness because it is so concentrated (picked with 20 hectoliters per hectare), mineral and complete. This is great dry Riesling with food, especially raw fish, since it does not add anything alien but accompanies like a great Champagne Brut Nature."
