95/100 Stephen Tanzer
"Insane wine! Spuntali is a spectacular vineyard on the Southwesterly facing slope of Montalcino. The wine is liquid chocolate, incredible concentration, power, depth, ripeness yet still great balance and length. One of the true stars of the vintage, a great wine. Starting with the 1995 the owners of this estate have renamed this bottling Tenimenti Angelini, same wine same folks new label."

"Deep garnet, with an amber edge. Fabulous aromas of wild mushroom, fresh flowers and plum. Very aromatic. Full-bodied, with a marvelously silky mouthfeel and a long, flavorful finish of fruit and sandalwood.--1997 Italian blind retrospective."
