"Tim Frohlich opines that the vines which inform his 2009 Schlossbockelheimer Kupfergrube Riesling Grosses Gewachs were so overly-vigorous when he acquired them that it has taken the better part of a decade to administer the tough love (including withholding compost) necessary so that they could express this site’s potential. Quarry dust, struck flint, black currant, white grapefruit, and white peach in the nose migrate to a palate of striking creaminess and (despite 13% alcohol) lift. Persistently savory suggestions of shrimp shell reduction along with stone and iodine inform a pungent, zesty, rivetingly intense, yet also delightfully refreshing finish. I would expect this to perform well for the better part of a decade."
